Resilience is an important frame as we start to come up against planetary boundaries and an unprecedented wealth gap. Resilience is not the ability of communities to bounce back after a disturbance, but our capacity to meet crisis in a way that enables us to develop and innovate. The future is not going to look the same as the past and we must clearly embrace change—the question becomes how do we best leverage disturbance to build a more equitable and sustainable future?
